Digital Media Cultures Reflection
Digital Media Cultures has been completely different to everything we've done so far on this degree, and it was a welcomed change. Honestly I do better with academic stuff compared to creative, my brain just works better! But mostly I liked that it's prepared me for my dissertation don't get me wrong I still have no idea what to do with it or how i'm even going to write close to that massive word count, but I know I have the skills to research relevant journals and books, and I can write in an academic tone.. I'm more prepared than I was in first year and that's a good thing. But it's also helped me see what interests me and what doesn't, I'm still just as interested in learning about Formats as I was when I wrote the essay and I'm still pondering writing my dissertation on some topic involving Public Service Broadcasting, and I probably wouldn't be thinking that way without this module, it's helped to give me that shove to start thinking about these things.. Especially because I know how long it took me to get through the reading for the 2000 word essay! Looking back, while it was hard work, I did really enjoy this module, I learned a lot and it all links to each other, which is handy.
